A little while ago, I came up with the idea of making a Squared Circles beaded bead with some large 12 mm lentils that I found at a bead show a few years ago. At first I was skeptical that it would work, since these lentils are twice the size of those called for in the original tutorial. After only a slight adjustment in the seed bead count, I was able to get it to come together:
